Counselling and Psychotherapy Services
FAQs
What is counselling/psychotherapy?
Counselling and Psychotherapy offer a confidential, supportive space where you can talk openly about what is going on in your life.
You might be feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, grieving or simply not like yourself. Therapy is a place to slow down and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface, at your own pace.
Rather than offering quick fixes, our work focuses on helping you make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and relationships in a deeper way. Over time, this understanding can lead to steadier, more meaningful change.
Who can I help?
I work with adults who are struggling in different ways. Whether that is anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, feeling overwhelmed, or a general sense that something isn’t quite right.
You do not need to have a clear explanation for how you feel. Many people come to therapy simply knowing they can’t keep managing on in the same way.
With commitment and a willingness to engage in the process, therapy can become a steady space for growth and change.
What can I expect during the first session?
In our first session, we will gently explore what has bought you to therapy and what you would like to feel different in your life.
There is no pressure to explain everything perfectly or to have a clear plan. We simply begin with what feels most important to you right now.
It is also a chance to get a sense of me, how I work and how the space feels for you.
We move at a pace that feels manageable. The focus is on creating a calm, steady foundation where you feel safe enough to explore what is going on for you.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is kept confidential.
There are a small number of legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or where required by law. If a situation like this were to arise, I would aim to discuss it with you openly wherever possible.
We will go through confidentiality in more detail during our first session so you feel clear and informed about how your information is held.
How long will I need to attend?
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place at the same time each week.
I recommend beginning with weekly sessions. Regular attendance helps build trust and momentum, and allows the work to deepen over time.
Some people come for shorter term counselling (around 6-8 sessions) to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term psychotherapy to explore patterns and deeper themes over time.
After our first six sessions, we will review how things are progressing and consider what feels most supportive for you.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, I offer online sessions for clients who are unable to attend in person. Online therapy is conducted with the same level of care, presence, and confidentiality as face-to-face work.
How much will it cost?
The fee for each session is €70.
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full.
